What Can A Divemaster Do...?
Firstly, as a fully qualified dive professional, you will have
a high level of responsibility, whether working
within a dive center, dive resort or even on a liveaboard. As
a PADI Divemaster you will be working alongside PADI Instructors,
assisting students on their different dive courses and organizing
dive trips for fun divers.
You will be in a position
to help any students who maybe are having difficulty with certain
aspects of their training as well as teaching them diver confidence,
skills and general safety procedures.
PADI Divemasters are also
entitled to become Emergency First Response Instructors (EFRI).
As an EFRI you can teach safety courses to student divers as a
recognized PADI EFRI Instructor.

How Far Can I Further My Dive Education...?
Having
successfully completed your Divemaster Training, the next logical
step is to think about your Instructor
Development Course (IDC). An ideal way to prepare for the IDC
is to gain work experience as a Divemaster intern (see above).
Within the PADI
IDC are programs for Assistant Instructor (AI), Emergency First
Response Instructor (EFRI), Open Water Scuba Instructor (OWSI)
Speciality Instructor, Master Scuba Diver Trainer (MSDT) and IDC
Staff Instructor. The IDC can be made up of all of these, or you
can take each course step-by-step.
